Artist's Description
In the Mahabarata, the epic Indian poem, Drupadi, who has become the Queen Panchalli, is forced to live in the woods for 12 years after being insulted. She seeks revenge and although her five Panchalli Prince husbands make her a bed of soft leaves to sleep on she is so angry that they feel like sticks to her. This is an illustration that I made after reading the book, The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

Such an wonderful creative work of how Panchaali would have felt at that point of time. The feeling shows on her expression - the disturbed sleep. You have also portrayed her untied dark locks, which she had vowed to plait only after her revenge got fulfilled. Hats off for the wonderful portrayal Sandra.
