India is always changing, yet never changing. This painting was worked from a photo I took on the Ganges River in 1983. If you return to this spot now, you would be hard pressed to find it, and yet everything on the ghats looks the same still. There are still the umbrellas shading the priests from the sun, the bathers cleansing themselves and praying to the river and the cremation and mourning rituals, always changing, never changing. The Ganges is the mother and the goddess.

During the last few years Sandra has painted numerous landscapes, from the US to Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam, and many others.
